Everything You Need in the Perfect Travel Electronics Kit

Perfect travel electronics kit

I love to go basically anywhere and everywhere. I particularly love to go places where I can disconnect with the rest of the world and just live in the moment.  That said, I hate totally disconnecting.  I love my electronics and do not wish to live in a world without them. Therefore, having the perfect travel electronics kit is very important to me. Here is what I travel with:

Travel Power Strip

Hotel rooms and cruise ship state rooms are notoriously bad for lacking accessible plugs in convenient locations. It’s not too terrible if I am alone, but add in a roommate who also loves their electronics and there is a potential for conflict. This handy Power Strip is lightweight, takes up very little space, and gives me 6 feet of reach in the event I have to use the plug across the room from my bed.

If cruising, check to make sure your cruise line still allows power strips. Some are starting to ban them. In these cases I use 10 ft. charging cables so they reach my bed and use the charging block below.

USB Wall Charger Block

I also love this Wall Charger Block. It is handy for carrying in my bag in case I need to plug in over lunch or create two separate power stations in the room. When traveling with Deidra, she will plug hers into my power strip and we have more than enough USB outlets right by the bed.

Multi-Charging Cables

To really maximize my charging options, I like to carry these Multi-Charging Cables. I can plug in my phone, my Kindle, and my earbuds on one cable! By bringing the second cable I can set up a desktop station for my laptop (if I bring it).

Apple Watch Portable Charger

I run an Apple Household and that extends to my watch. I know, only old people wear watches these days. Well, I guess I am old because I love my Apple watch counting my steps, alerting me to texts, making it easy to take photos with a tripod, and yes, telling me the time. This Portable Apple Watch Charger is great for keeping it charged.

Portable Charger

I have used numerous portable chargers over the years. Right now, I am really liking this Portable Charger with Built-In Cables. It is great not to have to deal with cords in my day bag. I simply charge this up and night and don’t have to fear running out of juice when I need my phone to take the perfect photo.

Universal Travel Adapter

When traveling internationally I bring along this Universal Travel Adapter. It works in almost every country but check before you go because there are a few places out there that require extra odd plugs. But this will take you really far.

Power Converter

One of the reasons I love Apple products is that I don’t have to worry with Power Converters. They work on any watt plug and I learned to just use the hotel hair dryer (no matter how bad it is) a long time ago. But if you have special electronics that need a converter to safely use, then this is a great model.

A Great Case

I use the smallest of these Travelon Packing Cubes to carry my Electronics Kit. It is just large enough to hold everything I need for a domestic trip. When traveling internationally, I use the larger cube so I can fit the power adapter in the bag. If you are looking for something a little fancier, you might try the Sisma Travel Cords Organizer.
